Project Case Study – Eurovia Contracting North

Environmental Tree Recycling Project, inclusive local community involvement - 2018

Location: Stafford Road Wolverhampton WV10 7EL

Goal: Ensuring the recycling of felled trees during carriageway improvement works promotes local artistic talent and is used for a community project that includes people from all backgrounds and benefits residents, businesses and tourism in the city of Wolverhampton.

Background:

Wolverhampton City Council is using government funding to improve the infrastructure of its roads across the city, benefitting all road users. The changes on the A449 Stafford Road are designed to reduce traffic build up on the route by widening carriageway to move traffic quickly through junction and are an important part of its infrastructure and planning strategy. The new design protects and enhances the safety of pedestrians and cyclists via upgraded pedestrian traffic crossing facilities and new footways. Along the A449, a gateway to the city, the disturbance, impact and effect of the works for residents, businesses and commuters is unavoidable. Eurovia Contracting, long standing members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, are the appointed contractor for the improvement scheme.
